COMMITTEES
The Presbytery of Riverside is comprised of five standing committees. Please take a look below to see what each one accomplishes within our Presbytery.

Committee on Representation and Nomination (CoRN)
is dedicated to promoting participation and inclusiveness in the nomination process for individuals seeking election to various positions within the Presbytery. This committee believes that fair representation is essential for fostering a diverse and vibrant community. To achieve this, CoRN actively seeks candidates from a wide range of backgrounds, focusing on ensuring that individuals are nominated regardless of factors such as race, ethnicity, gender, age, geographic location, physical or cognitive abilities, and differing theological perspectives.
Committee on Preparation of Ministry (CPM)
is responsible for guiding the preparation of members of Riverside Presbytery congregations who aspire to become teaching elders or commissioned ruling elders. This committee maintains a covenantal relationship with these members, their sessions, and their congregations.

Committee on Ministry (COM)
is responsible for providing and executing effective processes related to calling, commissioning, and dissolving relationships with teaching elders, commissioned ruling elders, and certified Christian educators in this Presbytery. CoM is also responsible for examining teaching elders, candidates, and ministers of another Christian church seeking membership or have been called to work properly under the jurisdiction of this Presbytery and recommending to the Presbytery its action. CoM also maintains effective communication and relationships with sessions of the Presbytery, regarding the life and ministry of congregations, teaching elders, certified Christian educators, and commissioned ruling elders.
Committee on Property, Finance, Investment and Funds Development (PFIFD)
is responsible for overseeing the financial affairs of the Presbytery. This committee has a fiduciary duty to act in the best interests of the Presbytery. The Presbytery places special trust in the committee to negotiate financial and property matters on its behalf. As such, the Presbytery relies on the committee to use its discretion and expertise in these matters.

Partner In Ministry Committee (PIM)
The mission of PIM is to ignite and cultivate the skills and practices essential for vibrant Christian discipleship, focusing on evangelism, mission, and advocacy. Through thoughtful promotion, insightful consultation, and strategic funding, we aim to equip and empower our members to serve their congregations and communities with passion and purpose. Together, we strive to be dynamic witnesses to the transformative work and ministry of Jesus Christ, inspiring others to engage deeply in their faith journeys and impact the world around them.
