Ministers and Educators Can Have Their Papers Saved

At last count, we had 27 Honorably Retired Members of our presbytery.  Many ministers and educators have tons of notes and paper files, and they don’t know what to do with them other than to put them in the recycling or garbage bin.  Here’s an idea: send them to the Presbyterian Historical Society in Philadelphia.  Chuck Rassieur, our long-time instructor in sexual misconduct prevention and active retiree at the Spirit of the Desert Fellowship in Palm Desert recently sent his papers and notes to Philadelphia, and they gladly received them.  Nancy Taylor (ntaylor@history.pcusa.org) reportedly said to Chuck, “don’t throw anything away.”  Chuck and Ginny are now retired to Pilgrim Place in Claremont and are diligently trying to “lighten the load” so they or their sons don’t have to.  Here’s a creative way that just might help somebody else doing research later on.  Email Nancy to see if they take digital records as well.
